Part 1

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SAGE — Senior Advocacy Guidance and Education (“SAGE,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles personal information collected through our website at sage-senior-advocacy.com, our online forms, chat, text messages, emails, events, and related services (together, the “Services”). SAGE is a community of independent senior-care professionals serving seniors, adult children, and families in the Puget Sound region of Washington State, including Seattle, Tacoma, King, Pierce, and Kitsap Counties.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you fill out our “Immediate Assistance” or contact forms, register for an event, request an offer, apply to become an affiliate member, use our chat, or contact a SAGE leader, we may collect:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, and city or county;
  • Whether you are a senior, an adult child, a family member, caregiver, or professional;
  • The details you choose to share about your situation, such as questions about in-home care, hospice, senior living placement, elder law, estate planning, guardianship, fiduciary services, real estate, or senior transitions;
  • Your preferred way and time to be contacted, and your consent choices for calls, texts, and emails;
  • Business details if you are a professional applying to join or partner with SAGE.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we and our service providers automatically collect limited technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referring website, and the date and time of your visit.

Information from others. If a family member, friend, or professional refers you to SAGE, they may share your contact information with us. Please only share another person’s information with their permission.

2. Consumer health data (Washington)

Because SAGE helps people navigate aging, the information you share may include details about physical or mental health, care needs, hospice, or end-of-life planning. Under Washington’s My Health My Data Act, this may be “consumer health data.” We collect it only when you choose to provide it, and we use it only to respond to your request and connect you with the right SAGE professional. We do not sell consumer health data, and we do not share it except as needed to provide the help you asked for, with your consent, or as required by law. You may ask to access or delete it, or withdraw consent, at any time by contacting us.

Please do not send highly sensitive information (such as Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or full medical records) through our website forms or chat.

3. How we use information

  • To respond to your questions and requests for guidance;
  • To connect you with the SAGE leader or affiliate member best suited to your situation;
  • To schedule consultations, presentations, and events, and to send reminders;
  • To send articles, event announcements, and updates you have agreed to receive;
  • To operate, secure, and improve our website and Services;
  • To comply with legal obligations and protect the rights and safety of seniors, families, and SAGE.

4. How we share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only as follows:

  • With SAGE professionals. SAGE leaders and affiliate members are independent businesses. When you ask for help, we share the details you provide with the professional(s) who can best assist you. Each professional handles your information under their own privacy practices and professional obligations.
  • With service providers that help us run the website, forms, chat, CRM, scheduling, email, and text messaging, under obligations to protect your information.
  • For legal reasons, when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect someone’s safety, including suspected elder abuse or exploitation where reporting is required.
  • With your consent or at your direction.

5. Text messages (SMS)

If you provide your mobile number and agree to receive texts, SAGE may send you messages about your inquiry, appointments, events, and updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of receiving any service.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are excluded from all sharing described in this policy. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

6. Email communications

You can unsubscribe from our newsletters and event emails at any time using the “unsubscribe” link in any email. We may still send messages directly related to a request you made.

7. Cookies & analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember preferences, understand how visitors use our pages, and measure the effectiveness of our outreach. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features, such as forms and chat, may not work properly without them.

8. Third-party sites, videos & social media

Our website links to and embeds content from other services, including the websites of SAGE leaders and affiliate members and videos hosted on YouTube. These services have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices. Information you post publicly on social media is governed by that platform’s terms.

9. Security & retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, to maintain our relationship with you, or to meet legal requirements, and then delete or de-identify it.

10. Your choices & rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, to stop contacting you, or to withdraw any consent you have given. To make a request, contact SAGE. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity. If we deny a request involving consumer health data, you may appeal by contacting us again and asking for a review; if you remain unsatisfied, you may contact the Washington State Attorney General’s Office.

11. Children’s privacy

Our Services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy & how to contact us

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when it was last revised, and changes take effect when posted. For questions about this policy or your information, please reach us through our Contact page.

It is not legal, medical, financial, tax, or real-estate advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows your specific situation. Using this website, submitting a form, or contacting SAGE does not create an attorney–client, patient–provider, fiduciary, or agency relationship. Any such relationship is formed only by a separate written agreement directly with the individual professional or firm.

SAGE does not guarantee the availability, quality, outcome, or cost of any service provided by a member. Introductions are offered as a convenience, and you are always free to choose any provider you wish. Some SAGE members may receive compensation from the services they provide to you or from other providers; you are encouraged to ask any professional about fees and relationships before engaging them.

5. Events, offers & affiliate membership

Event dates, locations, speakers, and formats may change or be cancelled. 6. Calls, texts & emails

By submitting your contact information and checking the consent box where provided, you agree that SAGE and the SAGE professional assisting you may contact you by phone, email, and text message about your inquiry, including through automated systems. Message and data rates may apply; message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out of texts or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of any purchase or service. See our SMS privacy terms.

We do our best to keep information accurate and current, but we do not guarantee that it is complete, error-free, or uninterrupted.
